Contacting the President's office is a great thing, allowing you to send your thoughts directly to the White House. There are a number of ways that you can get in touch with the White House, including traditional mail (snail mail), telephone or by using the White House email address. The email address for the White House is Comments@WhiteHouse.gov, while the email address for the Vice President is Vice_President@WhiteHouse.gov.

While anyone is free to email the White House or the Vice President, it is unlikely that you will get a personal response from either. This is due to the large volume of emails that both addresses receive on a daily basis. If you truly need to speak with someone in the White House, the telephone is the best option. While this may give you an automated service, it can be used to speak with an aide in the White House. Using the White House email address, however, is a good way to send comments or ask for specific information not found on their website.

The White House email address has remained unchanged since it was first set up in the early days of email. It cannot, however, be used to get in contact with the President. Emailing the Vice President may have better results, though, even with this method, you are more likely to contact an aide in the office, rather than Dick Cheney, himself. If you have something that you need to impart, though, do not let that stop you. Making your opinions known is a great thing, and most political offices have an email address that functions in this capacity. Many politicians use this method to determine popularity or problems with their campaigns or actions.

Using the White House email address may not give you immediate results, but you can at least use it to request information, such as tour times and types, some governmental programs and much more, as well.
